Railing Systems
Cable, aluminum, glass panel, and composite railings. We help you pick the right system for your deck, your view, and your budget.
Most homeowners think of railing as something you have to put up. The ones who actually spend time on their deck know it is one of the biggest decisions you make. The right railing system opens up a view, sets the look of the whole space, and either adds or takes away from the feel of the deck. A poorly installed system looks dated in two years and starts to wobble in five. We have installed every major railing type out there, and we will tell you straight which one makes sense for your situation before you spend a dollar.

Each system has different strengths. We walk you through the tradeoffs during the estimate.
Cable railing gives you an open, unobstructed view. It is especially useful on elevated decks that look out over a yard, water, or wooded lot. Stainless steel cables hold up well in NH weather and need almost no maintenance. Posts are typically powder-coated aluminum or steel. It is a more contemporary look that works with both composite and wood decking. NH code requires specific post spacing and cable tension, and we handle all of that.
Aluminum railing is the most popular system we install. It will not rust, it will not need painting, and the powder-coat finish holds its color for decades. Black aluminum against a gray or brown composite deck has become the standard look for a reason. It is sharp, clean, and ages well. Available in different baluster styles and post cap options. Meets NH building codes.
Glass panel railing gives you the most open sightlines of any system. No horizontal lines breaking up the view, no balusters to look through. It is the premium option and works especially well on decks with a strong view or overlooking a pool. Panels are tempered safety glass set in aluminum or stainless frames. Higher upfront cost than cable or aluminum, but virtually zero maintenance and a clean look.
Composite railing systems match your decking brand and color. If you are going with Eva Last or Deckorators decking, a matching composite railing ties the whole project together. It is a softer, more traditional look compared to aluminum or cable. Good choice for homeowners who want a warmer, wood-like appearance without the upkeep that comes with actual wood.
Why It Matters
We pull the permits and make sure every railing system meets local NH building codes. Post spacing, cable tension, baluster clearance, top rail height. You do not have to figure any of that out.
Every system we install, whether aluminum, cable, glass, or composite, is built to handle NH weather without corroding or rotting. No painting, no treating, no annual upkeep.
We help you pick a system based on where your deck looks and what you want to see from it. If you have a view worth protecting, we make sure the railing opens it up rather than blocking it.
If you are installing new decking with us, we design the railing to work with it. Matching colors, coordinated materials, and a finished look from the ground up.

Common Questions
It depends on the scope. Replacing like-for-like railings on an existing deck typically does not require a permit. Building new railing as part of a new deck or adding railing where there was none before usually does. We figure this out during the estimate and handle all permitting when it is required.
Cable railing generally runs 20 to 40 percent more than a standard aluminum system per linear foot, mainly because of the hardware and post requirements. Glass panel railing is typically the most expensive option. We give you pricing for all systems that fit your situation so you can make the call based on real numbers.
Yes, when it is installed correctly. NH building code requires horizontal cable spacing that a 4-inch sphere cannot pass through. Same standard as any other railing system. Post spacing and top rail height are also code-specified. We follow all of it on every job.
In most cases, yes. We look at the existing deck structure to make sure the framing and posts can handle the railing system you want. If anything needs reinforcing, we tell you upfront before anything is quoted.
